Delhi Metro to prepare E-W route DPR

Work for the east-west corridor of metro railway in Kolkata would begin in October next year connecting Rajarhat (New Town) in east Kolkata and to Dasnagar to the west across the river Hoogly in Howrah district.
 
The initial project cost has been estimated at Rs 4,500 crore while the completion cost is expected to touch Rs 6,000 crore. The project will take five years to take off.
 
The state and the Centre would equally share 40 per cent of the project cost while the rest is expected to be borrowed from overseas / multilateral funding agencies. ...  Read
